I help adults and couples who want to have healthy and supportive relationships but instead find themselves feeling misunderstood, unheard, and unhappy. My clients find that issues with romantic partners, family or friends, can be difficult and unfulfilling. They feel lonely and disconnected.
What I Can Help You With
Relationships can be challenging; I understand and can help. Together, we’ll discover your hidden skills, values, and knowledge that will help you to build strong connections. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of yourself and others, learn effective communication strategies, and develop the skills to navigate conflict constructively.
My Approach to Therapy
I utilize a blend of evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs. These include narrative therapy to help you understand and build healthy relationships, solution-focused therapy to empower you to identify solutions and achieve your relationship goals, and art therapy to access and process emotions and experiences that may be difficult to express verbally.
My Experience
I am an experienced counsellor with over 15 years of experience in helping people. In the past, I had the privilege of serving as the Clinical Supervisor at New Start Counselling and as a Counsellor at Bridges Institute. I’ve also spoken at numerous national and international conferences and workshops as an expert on Narrative Therapy.

I work with teens and adults who are exploring their identity or navigating life as trans, nonbinary, or gender diverse. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling unsure, overwhelmed or lost. You might be dealing with anxiety or depression, going through a transition, or facing challenges in school, work, or relationships that are making life difficult to enjoy.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
As a queer and trans therapist with lived experience of medical transition, I offer a supportive space to reflect on who you are, who you want to be, and how to get there. Many 2SLGBTQIA+ clients appreciate working with me because I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of telling you what to do, we’ll collaborate to make sense of what you’re facing and find a way forward that feels right for you.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is evidence-based and grounded in narrative and solution-focused therapy. In sessions, I’ll help you make sense of what you’re going through, reconnect with your values and strengths, and find your next steps. We’ll also explore how broader systems and societal expectations have shaped your world so you can navigate your life with more confidence.
My Experience
I’m a WPATH-trained therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience and currently serve as the Clinical Director at Insight Mental Health Counselling. Previously, I worked as a Counsellor at Dalhousie University and as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician with the BC government. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling (M.Ed.) from Acadia University; my thesis on the intersection of mental illness and identity was nominated for a Governor General’s Award.
